I am a life-long painted furniture enthusiast -- and have been a decorative painter for over 25 years. Necessity is the mother of invention, they say, and one sure-fire way to furnish a newly-wed home in the '70's was to paint old stuff. Which I did... with passion. "Truefaux," my decorative painting business, came next...walls, ceilings, cabinets, woodwork, and fireplaces in clients' homes, and of course, furniture.
I've taken courses along the way, studied and practiced from books, learned from other painters, and use various mediums, from acrylics to oils to house paints to Chalk Paint®. All are useful in different contexts.
Teaching has been a part of my life journey as well. From high school English to a two-year position in a Honduran bi-lingual school, I now teach painting workshops and give private lessons.
I am proud to be the Richmond, Virginia Annie Sloane Paint stockist. My shop, anne•hues•designs, is located inside Project1, in the Crossroads Center at 2012 Staples Mill Rd in Richmond, Virginia- between Amir Rugs and Crossroads Art Center.
Visit me here and let's talk about your project.
